Early Computer Vision Experiments
Intersection is an interactive installation intended to bring the viewer in contact with the words and ideas in the “air” around them. Conversations from public Internet chat rooms are gathered by a custom algorithm and used to populate the interactive video space. Participants face a live video composite of themselves and a text fragments. A computer vision algorithm tracks the participants’ gestures and enables them to displace the words within the creative space using improvised movements. Participants are encouraged to remix conversations by reorganizing sentence fragments to form new thoughts.
